The Childhood Cancer Hall of Champions is a dream built on courage, imagination, and legacy.
The Childhood Cancer Hall of Champions was created to honor the stories of children facing cancer as the heroic, world-shifting stories they truly are—stories of resilience, love, and extraordinary bravery.
Too often, these journeys are reduced to statistics or moments in time. The Hall exists to say clearly and boldly: these stories matter, and these children matter.
The Hall is envisioned as a place families can lean on—a place where connection replaces isolation, where courage is witnessed, and where no child’s fight is forgotten.
Built brick by brick and heart by heart, the mission is grounded in a simple belief: small acts of generosity, when shared by many, can create something lasting. Every contribution, every story shared, and every moment of care becomes part of a foundation designed to support real children and real families—not just today, but for generations to come.
It is a growing movement rooted in compassion, community, and hope—and an open invitation to stand beside children and families living with cancer, to honor their journeys, and to help build a legacy that says: you were seen, you were brave, and you will always be remembered.
The Childhood Cancer Hall of Champions is more than a future space.
Everything we build is guided by a few core values:
Compassion First
We lead with empathy, respect, and care—for children, families, and the communities that support them.
Legacy That Lasts
We are building something designed to endure time.
The courage of today’s children will continue to inspire future generations.
Honor the Story
Every child’s journey is unique and worthy of remembrance.
We believe storytelling is a powerful form of advocacy.
Community Over Isolation
Healing happens in connection. We are committed to creating spaces—physical and emotional—where families feel supported and understood.
Hope in Action
Hope is not passive. It is built through participation, generosity, and the courage to believe something meaningful can grow from shared effort.
Michael G. Velázquez, founder of The Childhood Cancer Hall of Champions™
Turning Courage into Legacy.
The Childhood Cancer Hall of Champions was founded by Michael G. Velázquez, a lifelong advocate for children living with cancer.
While Michael is not the parent of a child with cancer, his commitment comes from a deep belief that compassion alone is reason enough to stand beside families facing unimaginable challenges. For more than two decades, he has dedicated his time, voice, and resources to ensuring that children living with cancer are seen, celebrated, and supported.
Through storytelling, advocacy, and community-driven action, Michael’s work is guided by one simple conviction: you don’t have to live someone’s struggle to care deeply about it—and to help change it.
The Hall of Champions is the embodiment of that belief.
